* Commission Decision 2005/618/EC amending Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council for the purpose of establishing the maximum concentration values for certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment
Commission adopted rules allowing low levels of six banned substances in electronics equipment after EU Member States failed to decide for or against its proposal. The decision amends the RoHS (restriction of hazardous substances directive) as of 1 July 2006, when the directive’s prohibitions will also take effect.

EU consumption in 2005 of ozone-depleting pesticide methyl bromide has been officially capped at 2,777 tones. Specific permitted uses in each country are listed in the decision.
